Director and Owner of the Pilates Institute of Ft.Lauderdale
David Freeman is a prime example of the benefits of Authentic Pilates ™. He started his Pilates training at age 48 (with severe back problems). After experiencing the amazing results in a short period of time, David realized that in order to continue to feel young and energetic he would have to continue doing Authentic Pilates ™ for the rest of his life. He sought out Master Teacher Romana Kryzanowska, who was trained by and taught with Joseph Pilates until his death. David took time out from his law practice and trained extensively with Romana for almost 10 years and obtained his Teacher Certification from her. Now at 63 yrs old (with no back problems) David has experienced the full benefits of this amazing system.
Freeman’s belief in Authentic Pilates ™ was the inspiration behind his opening the Pilates Institute (sm) of Ft. Lauderdale and acquiring the exclusive United States rights to the Joseph Pilates Archives and the New York Pilates Studio ® Teacher Certification Program (the oldest and most comprehensive Teaching Program in the world). David now through his organization, the United States Pilates Association ™ LLC, offers instructors throughout the U.S.A. teacher training, seminars, workshops and Archival seminars on Authentic Pilates™.
Freeman, who has been teaching for over 10 years has been honored with the designation of “Teacher of Teachers,” and knows firsthand how AUTHENTIC PILATES™ can transform people’s lives.
Kathy Freeman is a Registered Nurse with a Masters Degree in Health Education/Exercise Physiology. Kathy started her own Corporate Health Education/Health Screening business in 1985. Kathy's company sends nurses to the workplace to provide health screening and health education services.
Kathy's interest in Pilates began when she was a student of the method. Realizing the amazing difference that this form of exercise provided, Kathy decided to pursue training to become a Certified Teacher of Authentic Pilates ™. "I have exercised all my life and have an advanced degree in exercise physiology. I have never learned, seen or experienced a method of exercise that results in such profound changes in the body. Pilates strengthens you where no other exercise method does and does so while enhancing mobility, fluidity of movement and over all posture. I carry myself with more strength and confidence as a result of my work in Pilates. It will be a part of my life for the rest of my life and I look forward to bringing these benefits to all I teach".
Kathy Freeman has successfully completed the New York Studio ® Teacher Certification Program and is currently a Certified Instructor.

Jenifer is a strong believer that a healthy balanced lifestyle is an essential key to maintaining a truly happy existence.
She was raised in a household which set strong foundation for the importance of health principles. Holistic medicine was encouraged along with natural foods, and daily exercise. To advocate this message of healthy lifestyle, Jenifer spent five years working in health foods retail. She then left to live abroad in Europe for five years wanting to learn about different cultures and their lifestyles. The last two years of her travel she lived in Spain as an English teacher. It was these last two years of her life that helped her to come to the realization what path she truly wanted to take in life. One which would involve incorporating two of her major passions: teaching, and advocating healthy lifestyle.
Feeling that a healthy mind and body were directly linked, Jenifer selected Pilates as her main field of focus. Jenifer knew that Pilates was something that would enhance the skill level of any physical activity one chose to partake in.
Jenifer is not only dedicated to teaching Pilates. She is also dedicated to her own practice and trains daily. She is extremely excited about possessing this valuable key that has the potential to unlock positive change in the lives of many.
Heather Anika Scogin is a resident of Miami, where she has worked as a fashion model for the past nine years. While being fit is a requirement for that industry, it has also become her passion. As a mother of two young boys, she maintains an extremely active lifestyle. She enjoys running, mountain biking, hiking, surfing, rock climbing, scuba diving, and practicing Bikram’s yoga
She has always desired a strong body, but been opposed to weight training to gain strength for fear of building bulky muscles. Hearing about the far-reaching benefits of Pilates and its ability to create long, lean muscles, she decided to try it. After doing significant research into the Pilates Industry, Heather found the Pilates Institute of Ft Lauderdale and was impressed with the quality of teaching and the authenticity of the program. Heather was amazed at the results she saw in her body and quickly became addicted. Incorporating Pilates into her fitness regimen has increased her ability to operate at peak performance in her varied athletic pursuits, but also in her everyday life. From the inspiration she gained through her practice of Pilates, came the desire to teach others.
Her goal is to help others deepen their understanding of movement, which will improve their strength, stamina, flexibility, coordination, balance & posture, with the added benefit of releasing muscle tension and relieving stress.
Heather is currently an apprentice in the New York Pilates Studio Teacher Certification Program run by the United States Pilates Association and plans to get her instructor’s license in the near future.
Since 9 years old, LEYSA was passionately engaged in competitive Ballroom dancing. With excitement and an appreciation for a physically active life style, she realized the direct connection of physical improvement to quality of life.
Being originally born and raised in Kiev, Ukraine, she moved to USA in 2005 and became a student in Fashion Institute of Merchandising and Design. While getting her degree she explored the myriad of classic and innovative workouts. She found that Pilates fit her needs. First of all it focuses on and consequently results in changes in your middle portion of your body, which is a weak problem zone for the majority; and less stress on the lower limbs which reduces the risk of knee injuries – also a very common problem among people active in sports.
Soon after graduation and relocation to the state of Florida I took the time and opportunity to progress my involvement beyond the practice of Pilates to actually study it for teaching purposes. My choice was Pilates Institute of Fort Lauderdale. While working on becoming a certified instructor I became more convinced of making the right choice, as well as finding Pilates to be an ideal workout choice for everyone who wants to increase core muscle strength, elongate muscles, improve body alignment and posture, correct muscle imbalances, enhance athletic performance and rejuvenate the entire body.

During her education at the NWSA she was introduced to the Pilates method and that gave her better understanding of the body and quality of movements. Her passion to learn more about this method brought her to the Pilates Institute of Fort Lauderdale where she was extremely impressed with the quality and intensiveness of the Program.
